American experimental musician Vatican Shadow AKA Domminick Fernow is set to release on the infamour Ostgut Ton. He will join the like of Ben Klock, Martyn and Kobosil with his record titled “Rubbish of the flood waters”. Dom has held down a residency in Berghain for the last year and now he is set to release his first of (hopefully) many records on the label.
The record features some classically ambiguous Ostgut Ton artwork which features the photography of Christian Vagt. The label features an image from the Softex series. The Softex series documents the refugee camp of the same name, located on an industrial road near Thessaloniki. Vagt’s photography of Softex’s pervasive, yet transparent fence expands Vatican Shadows recontextualisation of quotations from news media, military and religious contexts, this record is fantastically unique in that it is a mixed media art project.
The record is due to be released on May 12th 2017.
