The annual Amsterdam Dance Event has been increasing in importance in recent years and is now a vital part of the dance music calender. This year not only sees the same diverse array of interesting speakers and talks but a startling amount of label and artist showcases. With so much to see over the course of the 5 days we’ve gone ahead and given you five artists we think are set to make an impression at ADE and put their mark on house music over the next 12 months. Read on to see who’s made the cut.
Weiss
This man has made quite an impression in his short time in the spotlight although WWD suspects the mysterious Weiss may have been known to us in a previous form. Either way the lad makes delicious tunes and following on from his initially successful EP with Toolroom – Weiss City Vol 1. he has been getting some deserved props from the likes of Shadow Child and the Moda crew as well as Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight. With an appearance scheduled for the Toolroom Ten showcase at Panama on the Thursday of this week punters will get a chance to experience the Weiss sound which samples everything from disco to deep. Expect a fine reaction when ‘You Treat Me Right’ makes its bow!

Ten Walls
Talk about an explosive entry onto the scene! The haunting Gotham which was released just before the summer dominated the White Isle this season and was without doubt one of the tracks of the season. Another brilliant find from the Innervisions boys if we may say so. The relatively unknown Ten Walls looks set for a continued rise with another smasher on Life & Death in Requiem. Again another mysterious character with next to no info available online about this chap. Catch him performing at the Innervisions showcase at Trouw also on Thursday.

Adriatique
The Swiss duo had a really big summer with several remarkable performances at Neon Nights in Sankeys and as a result they’re reputation has taken a dramatic step forwards. Their intricate, exciting sets were the talk of Ibiza and their unique form of house has received support from all around them. They are of course heavily involved with Diynamic and will play their showcase (incidently also on Thursday) at Amsterdam Studio’s. A chance to see what all the hype is about and also take in some of their new releases including Lophobia which is a tasty slice of house music. 2014 will be big for this hard working pair.

Big summer breakthroughs are a recurring theme in this piece and this man certainly fits the bill. He obliterated Paradise at DC10 when performing and his productions stand up against the very best this year. Towards the tail end of the season he really made his mark as the eardrum melting Puke It Up began to take hold on the Island. The primarily Hot Creations based artist appears to have it all and we wouldn’t bet on him having a stomper of a year in 2014. Those who are yet to get a taste can visit the Scheepbouwloods (why would you ever call your venue that) on Friday night for the Hot Creations showcase. WWD recommended.
Listen to: Ibiza, Puke It Up, Love, News Z (wAFF Remix)
Darius Syrossian
The final pick and without doubt the most obvious but this guy is easily one of the most talked about artists of the last few months. His residency at Viva Warriors was a resounding success (it included an Essential Mix live recording) and he had a consistent stream of new releases which lit up our playlists over the summer. Anybody who made it down to Sankeys this summer will undoubtedly vouch for the prowess of this hardworking artist. New track ‘Days Without You’ continues his recent good form and WWD will 100% be in attendance this Wednesday night as Studio 80 as he lines up alongside good friend Dj Sneak as well as DJ W!ld (who almost made this list) and Phil Weeks.
Listen to: Days Without You, We Both Loco, House is House, Lost in 27 (Darius Syrossian Remix)
