This week, we had the pleasure of chatting with Antoine Husson a.k.a. Electric Rescue, a respected techno dj and producer, who’s all set to release a new album entitled “Parallel Behaviors” on his own Paris-based imprint Skryptom Records.

WWD: Thanks for joining us Antoine! How are you doing right now?
I’m really good, thank you, impatient now to see my new album releasing on May 20th. It’s always the same when you do an album you spend a lot of month to create and take pleasure on it then you are very impatient to see it releasing and that period is always too long 🙂
WWD: Recently your “Texture Shot EP” has been released, giving an interesting taste of the whole album. What the audience should expect from the complete album package?
This album is the pictures of my last past 2 years, so this express a large panel of all of my emotions from this period. Life and music experiences, so it create a large panel of different influences and sounds from electronica to strong techno. It’s a combination of dance floor sensation and emotional introspections.
WWD: Why did you choose Inigo Kennedy and Zadig as remixers?
These 2 guys are 2 of the artists who’s influenced me the most during this period of 2 years. I really enjoy the combination of electronica and techno from Inigo and the roughness of electronica and techno from Zadig. They are also friends so I asked them if they were ok to remix me on my album and they agreed for my pleasure. I’m really happy and lucky with there tracks I play and love.
WWD: After the publication of “Sonic Architecture [Bedrock Records]” in 2012 , how did you feel about the challenge of making a new album?
When I released my last album on Bedrock I had a strange feeling that I wasn’t at my place on the John Digweed label, because it wasn’t my kind of music who’s proposed on this label. But John gave me a white card to release my album and I still thanks him for this, for his confidence and kindness. And I really released the album I wanted do at that precise moment. But when I did my tour for the album I felt not at my place: when I was booked for Bedrock parties or when people came because of my release on Bedrock. I felt that they expected music in the mood of Bedrock but I was too techno and dark for them, so I told to John and Scott (the label manager) that I firstly thanks them and I didn’t feel to continue on Bedrock because of this, they agree and we are still friend. Then, to give my real direction and personality, I decide to release quickly a new album, I really felt and wanted to do on a label I play on my dj sets or on my own label. Finally I decide to do on my own to really give the thruth on my techno for Electric Rescue project. It was a great challenge to release on my own label but I decided to do it to do exactly what I wanted, 2 videoclips on special tracks, and other things in the promo I really wanted to do to push it as far as I can.
WWD: If we want to make a comparision, what are the main differencies you noticed, in terms of personal attitude and production techniques to the previous LP?
This one is more rough and raw, and I reallly get back to my techno and electronica roots but with the sound design of today. I didn’t change my approach of how to do an album but the texture changed and the feelings from the moment of creation.
WWD: You’re into the techno scene from many years. In your opinion, what’s missing the most in the modern productions? Do you ever feel too many records lack in longevity and creativity?
Nothing is missing, every different period has its own influence and each of them has good and bad things, I always try to keep the good part of each. I’m taking the ingredients of each techno fashion who’s spending to bring it back to my own personality. Nothing miss today, it’s just today, and personally for me I think today, the period is good for music and rave.
WWD: What is going on with your label project Skryptom?
Skryptom live very well, and I’m lucky that label is very well considered on the international techno scene and I’m happy with it, I’m happy with the future as I have of course my album who’s arriving, but also the future is already on as I have Kmyle who will get released in July with remixes from Flug and Ilario Alicante, will follow a new EP from Paul Nazca and a great remixer, then other things are in the pipeline but I can’t speak of it now 😉
WWD: Have you got any other forthcoming projects you could tell us about?
Yes of course we have the Möd3rn album with my friends Maxime Dangles and Traumer who will arriving beginning of the next year. A new EP from my project W.LV.S with the driver is out now and a new one have been finished some days ago. Then I have also an album ready from my electronica project RE.KOD I’m looking for a label for it at the moment. So it’s a lot of wonderfull projects, I’m really lucky… Hope it will continue for a long time like this, fingers crossed 🙂
