May 9th sees the re-launch of Yousef’s Carioca Records. budding producer SevenDoors (Diynamic Music, Exploited Ghetto, Eklektisch) is given the honour of reigniting the label. He does so in style with a splendid three track release. We’re delighted to present you a snippet from the EP in the form of a full premiere of ‘Mesoplodon’ – this is an epic cut, a pulsating eight and a half minute trip along an underwater highway. SevenDoors fuses an upfront groove and soft melodic touches to great effect.
Speaking with When We Dip on the re-launch, Yousef remarks “we’re developing Carioca as a home for a wider range of quality, more musical and cinematic electronic music and teaming up with SevenDoors was a prefect way to re-announce the label. SevenDoors encapsulates the vibe where Carioca is heading and his masterful strokes on this 3 track EP show the diversity and skill both he and the label are aiming for and are at. As the label (for the most part) is not reflective of me as DJ I can enjoy its output as music enthusiast, and listen to the tracks from start to finish without considering them as DJ tools, which is refreshing. Seven Doors is extremely talented and having him on the label is a shrewd move for us too – we will both grow together and Carioca holds no restrictions for him as a quality artist. ”
Release Date set for May 9th, 2016.
