Kling Klong and Moon Harbour producer Nintoes shares his current picks in a brand new mix for our Select Cuts series this week (including exclusives forthcoming on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records!). What’s more, we sat down with the noted Berlin-based producer to discuss his motivations, upcoming music, his affinity for the White Isle and his favourite chillout spots in Ibiza.
WWD: How are you? What’s been on the agenda this week?
I’m fine thank you. Just came back from the studio. I’m working on new music right now and on the weekend I’m traveling to Romania to play there on a festival.
WWD: Have you been following Euro 2016 in your off time?
Sure. I’m a big fan of the German team. I hope they will win the cup 🙂
Aside from music, what’s your biggest passion? Is there even time for a second passion in a career like this?
Not really.. My biggest passion is music but I try to do some sports when I’m not producing, traveling or djing and to live healthy as much as I can.
WWD: Your latest release with Moon Harbour has had a great reception. Have you been happy with the way it’s gone down?
Oh yes. Sure! The feedback to “DESDA” was massive. A lot of djs are playing it and the compilation at all is a really good one and full of great artists. It’s feels good to be a part of it.
WWD: Production-wise, what else have you got coming up this Summer?
I have a new Saved Ep called #rbsb with 2 original tracks coming out July 22nd.
In September i’m releasing a new 2 tracker on Play It Down and for Q4 i have also new music coming out. So watch out for them.
WWD: You’ve played all around the world and released on some of the best labels out there. What is it that keeps you motivated in music?
I love to play music and see people having fun and being happy. When the crowd is happy i’m happy, too. This exchange of feelings on a party is priceless and keeps me playing and playing and playing 🙂
WWD: You and your music have a special relationship with Ibiza. In your eyes, what makes the white isle so special?
Honestly, I can’t describe it ! The Island is something special. The vibe, the atmosphere, the people and the food.
It’s so unique. Even when you’re in the plane and you see the island from above something like magic comes over you 😉
WWD: If you could change one think about Ibiza, what would it be?
The prices !
WWD: Where’s your favourite hangout on the island outside of music hotspots?
There are a lot of nice places but i love to hang out at Cala Salada, Cala Comte or in Formentera.
WWD: Talk us through the mix you’ve provided for us today!
The mix is a mixture between tracks i like to listen to and tracks im playing right now in my sets and the 2 tracks (Lay Down & Nose) from my forthcoming Saved EP.
Enjoy.
Ninetoes’ #rbsb EP (1. Lay Down, 2. Nose) is out July 22nd on Saved Records.
