To kick off the label’s second release of the year Decay Records welcome Ibiza resident Alice Clark into the fold with two-stripped back cuts featuring remixes by Romanian master Mihai Popoviciu and rising star James Dexter.
Derived from her influences of the Romanian sub-genre Alice Clark has developed her own unique take on deep dubby, groove driven micro-house entwined with the drive and subtitles of minimal tech.
Her latest EP kicks off with the title track ‘Rocket’; a hypnotic cut with vocal murmurs, rolling tech-house grooves and her trademark dance floor focused breakdown. On the flip is ‘Egotist’ tipped with prominent hi-hats over detuned cowbells and mesmerising chord stabs. Cyclic boss Mihai Popoviciu steps up to rework ‘Rocket’ dismantling the original composition and taking it into deeper territories with his own percussion and subtle swelling atmospheres. Rising star James Dexter provides the remix of ‘Egotist’ reshaping Alice’s stabs into dynamic dub-techno chord sequences. We are delighted to premiere Mihai’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
Release Date: April 27th.
