Jonathan Kiely & Rooney – Rising EP

A particularly tasty one has dropped in our mailbox this morning courtesy of Irish producers Jonathan Kiely & Rooney. Their Rising EP is a delicious slice of upbeat house which is sure to make a splash over the next few weeks. The title track Rising starts slowly before building into some bouncy percussion and some delicate chords complemented by a choice vocal sample. This is a club track, built to get people moving and it’s piano based breakdown is the perfect alternative to its driving drop.

The second track in the EP coming solely from Kiely himself is a more moody affair. Slightly darker but once more incorporating a well placed piano breakdown and some soulful vocals. This one’s for later in the night! The final track of the release is a remix from industry stalwart Carl Hanaghan who puts his unique touch to Rising with excellent results. Keeping that same upbeat energy but adding some delightful little elements (including some creative use of the piano chords) to lift the track and give it a noticeable sheen.Overall a stellar EP which should help both these budding producers push on to better things. WWD recommended.

The EP is out on the label of Mr Sonny Fodera – Beatdown Music and is available via Traxsource today.
