DFTD stays strong with Lovebirds & Co.

When We Dip
Deep House, House
4 August 2014

The creation of DFTD has proved timely and astute. In a period where mediocre house music is flooding the airwaves, Defected Records have stepped back and refined what they do best through the new imprint.

The latest release from Lovebirds and co. continues their recent rich vein of form. The remixes, which dropped today (August 4th), have seen widespread  acclamation and deservedly so. First up, The Shapeshifters have laid down an essential slice of summer house, keeping the Lisa Shaw vocal intact, they’ve added delish horns, some snappy snares and a strong bass-line. We could take this one on repeat.

As for Rob Mello, his No Ears Version takes the track back in time with an old school mix filled with classic digital stabs & 808 sounds. A very nice contrast to The Shapeshifters remix.
