The time is nearly upon us! All signs point to the White Isle for what is sure to be yet another season of quality music and boundless debauchery. Kerri Chandler and crew have assured that they’ll be well set with dance-floor weapons this year, lining up their second compilation in the form of a 26 track Ibiza focused release, it features among others Copy Paste Soul, Alexis Raphael, Josh Butler, Bontan, Cera Alba, Cristoph and Max Chapman, not to mention a man on a serious mission this year – Waifs & Strays. The Bristol producer has risen to the fore of the house & tech scene in the last twelve months and his return to Madtech on their Ibiza compilation marks the start of string of big releases on the way (Find out more below!).
Today, he shares an exclusive stream of “Running dat” with us, his cut forthcoming on the MadTech Ibiza compilation and he even stopped by for a quick chat. Enjoy!
WWD : Amos, thanks for joining us. Great to have you here! Where are you right now and what’s been on the to-do list this week?
I recorded some vocals with a friend of mine for a new track yesterday, and have to mix a podcast by the weekend…and find a cleaner! my house is filthy and I’m useless at housework!
WWD : Your cut “Running Dat”, a very groovy number btw!, is featured on the new Ibiza compilation for Kerri Chandler’s Madtech. What can you tell us about that release?
Its the second mad tech compilation, and this one is bigger than the first. Its 28 tracks or there abouts which is a lot for a compilation. There are some seriously great tracks in there from some great artists…I think its a really great selection of tunes!
WWD : Was the track custom built with Ibiza in mind?
Not really, i don’t tend to plan tracks like that…i just wanted to make something with groove and energy…its been sounding great in clubs and so and really happy with how it came out.
WWD : Aside from your own track of course, what’s your favourite production on the compilation?
They are all really strong, the A&R process has been pretty strict on this one!
WWD : Speaking of Ibiza, will we catch you on the White Isle this Summer?
I will definitly be over at some point, gig wise I am just finalising things at the moment.
WWD : Moreover, festival season is impending, have you any dates locked down that you can tell us about?
Festivalwise I am playing Love Saves the Day in Bristol, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Garden in Croatia and Eastern Electrics. I love festivals so happy to be playing at so many!
WWD : Your been churning out new music at an impressive rate the last twelve months! What does the release schedule look like for the rest of the year?
Really strong, I’ve been working really hard in the studio to get lots of tracks done. I have EPs coming on Skreams Of Unsound Mind and Ben Pearce’s Purp n Soul label, and tracks on Suara (a collab with Mark Jenkyns), Madtech we’ve spoken about, Audiojacks label Gruuv, and Futureboogie. And then remixes on VIVA and Material.
