Three years after his debut ‘Phillips’, Frankfurt producer Lauer is back with his second album ‘Borndom’ and it was released on the Munich record label Permanent Vacation on the 8th of May.
‘Borndom’ is described by the label as being “rooted in pop music and mixed with the reactance and sound aesthetics of punk, while wearing dancing shoes”. Lauer’s ‘Borndom’ seeks out to be melodically beautiful and although it takes a slight shift from his debut album ‘Phillips’, ‘Borndom’ sees Lauer using vocals for the first time and also sees him producing some tracks that have more of an 80s pop feel. Lauer says that he wanted the album to be more than a collection of dance tracks and ultimately this is the outcome.
‘Borndom’ is infused with some classic synths, exceptional vocals and brings you on an exploration of minimal wave with some new beats that make Lauer’s second album a true masterpiece.
Phillip Lauer’s second album sees him at his very best. The album can be streamed in full below
