On Friday, September 22nd, Hotflush Recordings most musically diverse artists will take over Lot 613 venue in Los Angeles, California. The label’s founder Paul Rose, aka Scuba, has dominated the electronic music scene for over a decade. He originally started his career in the UK before moving to Berlin where he continuously evolves his craft as well as his carefully curated label-troupe. Back in 2003, Hotflush Recordings’ early influences were heavily rooted in the UK’s music scene, but it has since then transgressed into a more techno infused label with releases from Recondite, Paul Woolford, and Dense& Pika. The label possesses an eclectic representation of genres intertwined with Scuba’s own enigmatic style of music. Joining the label head honcho at the PrototypeLA party is Sepalcure, the stellar collaboration between Travis Stewart, also known under his alias ‘Machinedrum’, and Praveen & Benoit’s Praveen Sharma. On opening duties is Californian artist Lando aka Antaeus Lando Roy who has since became a recognized Berlin local in the music scene. His tracks possess traces of techno, acid, house, all through a distinct lens that brings in a sexy basslines with a touch of funk. His unique style has landed him bookings at world-renowned clubs like Fabric, Berghain, Space, Trouw, as well as his residency at famous nightclub, Tresor.
Ahead of the occasion, Sepalcure select the definition end of Summer playlist. Speaking to When We Dip, they added “Summer’s over.
