Archie Hamilton and Benson Herbert serve up the ‘Swerve’ EP on Moscow Records

Moscow Records runner, Fuse affiliate and owner of the DJ Awards best producer accolade, Archie Hamilton is a talent with many strings to his bow. And with a natural knack for production, it’s no surprise the UK talent’s latest EP has heads turning. The Swerve EP, made in conjunction with rising up-and-comer Benson Herbert is a solid three tracker, composed of slick minimal kicks and dubby, chunky grooves.

Two original collaborations, along with a tasty remix from Mandar member S.A.M, mean this EP will sound right at home on any decent soundsystem. And rightly so, because the beats are as danceable as they are devastating. Whether it be the ethereal synths giving way to a rolling bassline in Swerve, or the stripped back simplistic flow of Informer, each track retains the signature groove of Archie, alongside the zesty flare of Benson.

And onto the S.A.M remix of Informer. Fast, with a bouncing bassline, the Mandar members refix stays true to the original, while bringing a refreshing new twist to the track. The subtle alarm sound in the background keeps us on our toes before a hollow kick drives the beat along. An excellent rework from the Mandar mainstay.

It makes sense then that such a powerful EP would be saved for Archie’s Moscow Records. And with the contribution of his cousin Benson, there’s no doubt the talent for serving up cutting-edge minimal grooves runs in the family. Keep your eyes peeled folks, this one’s special!

Release Date: September 17th, 2018. Available to buy here. Listen to the full EP below.
