Duo Pavel and TJ aka Night Vision have brought a heavy weight EP to Motek Music. Two tracks incorporating their eclectic mix of vocal and deep styles with ‘The Answer’ and driving sounds of ‘Brood’. Featuring the vocals of Jinadu, ‘The Answer’ is a flowing production steeped in warm pad textures and soft pulsating synth sounds. In contrast ‘Brood’ takes a deeper more mysterious feeling. Punchy and with more drive, the track is pushed with the strong baseline and Hi Hat interplay. String synth elements ebb and flow through the arrangement and vocal elements add an almost haunting atmosphere. Grammy nominated James Teej along with Jozif are in remix duty for this release, both putting their stamp on ‘The Answer’. James Teej’s take is steeped in atmosphere through floating string parts that open out as the track develops. Live elements in percussive sections and classic acid synth notes provide a live feeling and grit to the mix. As is part of the trademark Jozif sound, his remix is based around stripped back and crisp interplay between the beats section and bass. Each element adding to the overall groove of the track. Dry production to the vocals makes the track feel close and personal whilst still keeping the dance floor punch.
