Maeve co-founder The Drifter has lined up a lethal new remix on TYP, dropping on October 25th. The renowned selector and producer follows up the likes of Clarian, Facundo Mohrr, and Matthias Meyer in remixing rising Canadian indie electronic duo HOKI. ‘The Push’ comes in its original form as an innately dance-centric release from HOKI. A thick underbelly carries the track, with techno-influenced synth work providing exaltation on top of the 4×4 beat. The heavy groove is supplemented by the signature soaring vocals, calling for better days.
The Drifter’s remix of The Push extends the original track’s reach on dance floors by adding hypnotic vocal chops and acid overtones, while also firming up the groove and adding a douse of raw power.
‘The Push’, and the remix from The Drifter, will be released on October 25h via The Young Proprietor. Buy here.
