With Devil, Filizola delivers another one of his glam-infused tracks, one that sinks its teeth deep into the disco roots the Mexican DJ and producer invariably calls upon EP after EP.
Laid-back vocals from Micca Mont provide a contrast to the brightness of the piano riffs and sparkling percussion that form the tracks main body, resulting in a proper balance that draws the listener in and keeps their attention thanks to solid arrangements and a crystal-clear production.
Fellow Mexican residents CASUAL SX take over the remixing duties, turning the beat on its head and nailing it in place with a bubbling, scalding-hot bassline. Devil then becomes a peak-time tune, with the corresponding tension build-up and release which work very well when combined with the sliced-up vocals, adding an intensity to the original that goes beyond its disco roots to delve more deeply into underground house territory.
The Devil EP was released on November 1st by Soviett Records and can be purchased here.
