KUSP began as an experiment between two old friends in Liverpool rediscovering their love for dance music. After that their ‘Born Slippy’ remix announced their arrival, in the 12 months since, KUSP have exploded onto the scene with releases on Sonusfield, Octopus, ODD and most recently We Are The Brave.
In a short space of time, KUSP tracks have gained support from Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Sasha Robotti, Sian, Jerome Syndenham & Risa Taniguchi. BBC Radio 1 plays have been ticked off the list as has playing alongside Amelie Lens, Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills and Ben Klock. With the gig diary filling up already, 2020 will see KUSP power to the next level in the techno scene.
KUSP’s first full EP on We Are The Brave opens with title track, ‘Dominator’ – overdriven 909s meet sparse percussion and melodic undertones, a cheeky 90s vocal sample and complete dancefloor carnage.
The slower, deeper ‘Be Free’ rumbles with menace before exploding into life. Strong melodics again take the lead in the main break. ‘Diss’ ups the pace and the dystopian feel with a dark yet groovy 90s vibe. Finally, ‘Bodied’ rips from the stalls with huge drums and sparse percussive elements that are perfect for those late-night sweaty underground raves. You can listen to the full premiere of ‘Dominator’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
