Dimensions is a compilation series focused on bringing together unique artists and select tracks, which resonate with each other beyond just the sound of the music. It is a platform to create forward thinking releases on which artists in the XYZ family, and newcomers with shared values, come together to write their chapter of a collective story.

The second installment of the Dimensions welcomes a set of diverse characters into the XYZ fold. The trio of groove-laden tracks nudges the listener towards the darker and colder months ahead, yet retains a warm fall aura as well. Progressive arrangements with hearty basslines and melodic flair are key pillars of the release, with both stalwarts of the scene and up-and-comers sharing their prowess for dancefloor-oriented material.

Leading the Dimensions charge is a crucial figure in the journey of the deep and progressive scene. Pablo Bolivar has been at the forefront of the dance music for over 20 years, with a distinguished melodic, hypnotic, and intriguing brand of production. XYZ fans will be familiar with previous appearance on the label – his pristine remix of Budakid’s Senlin. We couldn’t be happier to have the Spaniard back, this time in the company of American duo Emanate. Bolivar and Emanate have created a rich working relationship, and return for their second collaboration in the form of Alchemize. A delicate kick through the intro gives way to a haunting bassline, culminating in a mellow groover with various melodic entracements. Alchemize perfectly sets the mood for Dimensions II, with its soft and tactile qualities leaving the listener primed for the journey.

For the b-side we present an XYZ debutant, yet a name innately tied to the label family. Hicky & Kalo are one of the most exciting acts in Montreal’s rich underground scene, displaying their pristine quality behind the decks at the likes of Stereo, Piknic Electronic, and the PY1 Pyramid. Thomas & Camilo also exert excellence in the studio, running one of the most innovative rising labels in the industry – Plasiris Sonores. While releasing music from the likes of titans Hernan Cattaneo, Soul Button, and Darin Epsilon, Hicky & Kalo also dedicate themselves to unearthing special untapped talent from across the globe. The duo has been developing their musical repore since age 14, and seasoned friendship presents a stunning track – Rayo de Luz. A sumptuous fluttering melody fires into a hearty groove. Brimming with dancefloor quality and lighter emotional tones, Rayo de Luz is the perfect track to welcome Hicky & Kalo on the label.

Closing out our second Dimensions series, we shed light on a mysterious yet talented individual. Nōpi has been teasing out his productions on a group of enigmatic labels, such as Seven Villas, Akbal, and Sag & Tre. The Ukrainian’s quality in the studio is evident, with a knack for deep and emotional melodies. Little Tree rests on a constant bassline, with percussive overtones driving the track constantly forward. With an arrangement lending itself to special moments of euphoria, Little Tree harnesses the last remaining droplets of summer.
