Define clear roles and responsibilities
Each partner and agent should know what is expected of them at any given moment. Break large tasks up into smaller ones and spread them out to more people. Identify personal strengths and weaknesses and capitalize on them.
Streamlined tools, communication and organization
Utilize technology to its fullest. Sloppy organization can often hinder a smooth transaction, so streamlining certain steps of the booking and advancement process using advanced tools and technology is an advantage. Keeping communication organized by topic is useful internally to keep track of ongoing topics.
Don’t skip important steps & seek advice
It’s easy to get lazy on certain tasks, but things like making sure you’re legally compliant, writing a business plan and utilizing the services of accountants and lawyers and other professionals, can be critical to the success of your new company. Ask for advice from mentors and industry leaders.
Develop meaningful relationships
Focus on your artist’s goals, work on developing their portfolios and consider the best direction for their career, that aligns with their personal lives and obligations. Engagements with outside people should be meaningful and bring value and trust.
Make sure your financials make sense
A little desperation can go a long way, but financial desperation can sink the ship before the maiden voyage. Make sure you do a proper financial analysis and projected budget. Do market research based on actual numbers and realistic projections.
