There’s a driving, latent energy that underlies the new EP from Dublin based R.Kitt, marking it out as a decisive step in his burgeoning career. Landing on Eluize’s cross continental label (Berlin/Adelaide) Night Tide, as a record it marks a clear step into the realms of techno, while still packing all the melody and warmth of his previous efforts.
From the title track Ripples From The Edge which sets the tone with some delightfully crafted soundscapes to melodic stabs of Wish You Hadn’t Said (already a firm fav with Ben UFO), the five track release showcases the different sides to R.Kitt’s repertoire. His diversity is further on show with the break influenced Stitch Up, it’s carefully weaved vocal snippets lifting the spirit nicely, while Machine Damhsa is another floor orientated jaunt, packing a neat punch. The final morsel is the electro tinged Strange Perspective, another auditive treat.
Label owner Eluize has also crafted a blissed out remix of Ripples From the Edge that is sure to find favour with a wide range of selectors.
