Vivrant‘s first release of 2021 follows up on label boss Jeremy Olander’s ‘Rubicks’ EP and introduces a new annual various artists series entitled ‘Commune’. The series aims to create a new streaming-first format that marries established acts with emerging new talent that make up for lack of name recognition with immense raw talent and potential.
Artists appearing on the first volume include Swedish godfather of techno Joel Mull, German melodic house virtuoso Sascha Braemer, label founder Jeremy Olander, as well as three of the most exciting new talents on the scene in the likes of Viggo Dyst, Carl Dern and Lexer.
Swedish Viggo Dyst, with forthcoming releases on La Fleur’s Power Plant and UK house behemoth Shall Not Fade, has a genre-transcending sound that seamlessly blends elements of house, trance and breaks. His Commune contribution ‘This Light Only’ epitomises his playful and avant-garde approach to modern dance music and has all the makings of a future anthem.
The name Carl Dern will ring a bell of familiarity with the most steadfast Vivrant fans. With past releases on Dana Bergquist’s Oh! Records, the incognito Swede first appeared with ‘Eyes Up’ on Olander’s acclaimed Balance Series mix album. His Commune track ‘Biten’ is a testament to his abilities as a producer and the bright future that lays ahead.
Despite putting out his first official release almost a decade ago, the Leipzig native Lexer has particularly grown into his own as a producer in the last 3 years. With notable releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock and Jonas Saalbach’s Radikon, his Commune track ‘Up’ embodies what a hard-hitting Vivrant debut should sound like.
You can now listen to the full premiere of Joel Mull’s track ‘Groover’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
