Few labels are as esteemed in electronic music as Bedrock Records. Founded by John Digweed in 1999, it’s responsible for shaping dance music’s very foundations, with a string of groundbreaking releases in its twenty-two-year run.

One of those came in 2019, when Guy Mantzur and Khen’s Where Is Home was released to widespread industry acclaim. Now, the EP gets reenvisioned thanks to Kasper Koman and Matthias Meyer, who serve up a stunning remix package of the original.

Kasper’s 4AM remix of My Gold sets the charge. Chugging along with punchy kicks and melodic undertones, the four-minute re-work epitomises the sound with which Bedrock has become best known. Emotive, poignant but wholeheartedly built for the dance floor. 

Matthias Meyer’s remix of Where Is Home completes proceedings. It’s an energetic offering, featuring a resonant bassline and dream-like chords throughout. It feels euphoric and reflective in one, two traits that have underpinned Bedrock’s style since its 1999 inception.

Overall – a class act from one of dance music’s most well-trodden labels. Coming into its twenty-second year, it’s clear to see Digweed’s ethos hasn’t changed since his earliest foray into running a label two decades ago. Quality music produced by a diverse selection of artists, that evokes emotion and no-holds-barred dancing simultaneously. Now that’s something we can all dance to.
