The talented Gadi Mitrani is an artist we have had our eye on for many years now, his well-thought-out productions and deep, yet energetic melodies have always resonated with us. The beginning of May saw Gadi deliver a meaningful message with his ‘Out Of Time’ single, addressing the pressing issue of global warming, and creating awareness around the issue. Whilst the track received stellar remixes from the likes of Vincenzo, Death On The Balcony & more, we wanted to take some time to quiz the man himself about his original, and what the message means to him.

WWD: Hi Gadi, thank you for connecting with WWD. We are huge fans of your ‘Out Of Time’ single that just dropped, so it is a pleasure to have you on board. What inspired you to make this track?

Thank you so much for the nice words and the interview. I am a huge fan of yours too 🙂 I was watching lots of doc series about climate change and our planet at the time. I first wrote the melody of the track, and then I started to mumble on it, and then the lyrics just came out subconsciously.

WWD: Do you think due to the pandemic pausing the day to day life of many that now people have more time to address world issues? And seem to care more as they have more time?

Yes sure, you have so much time to read books, watch documentaries, and think about life.

WWD: The track empowers a message in regards to an important topic of modern day society, global warming, how important is this message to you?

I think it is so important for all of us. We can not continue to live the way we lived before, we need to change our habits, there are so many things we can change, and we can choose a couple of them and do it. For the future of the next generation, this is so important.

WWD: How was it creating and recording the vocals for this one? Was it your first time?

First time I tried to sing a song 🙂 I have a talented friend Umit Kuzer, an amazing musician and a producer, who produces Turkish pop, rock, hip-hop artists all the time. I sent him the track and he told me he loved my voice so we decided to record the vocal at his amazing studio (Virus Studios), and he pushed me to sing better. It is really hard to hear your voice from a speaker so it is a good thing to have a friend who teaches you how to sing.

WWD: Is there anything you can advise people to do to try and help with global warming?

Yes, I think reducing meat and animal-based diet is very important and I think it is better for your health too.
Reduce water waste, recycle, and read and watch about the subject.

WWD: Are they are any other current topics you would like to touch on via your music?
Writing lyrics is a new experience for me, but I would love to do tracks for world peace, animals, oceans, and dreams.

WWD: What else can we expect from you in 2021?
I have upcoming releases from Do Not Sit, The Sound Garden collaboration with Erdi Irmak ,Wold records, and more releases coming from talented artists from my label Love and Above.
