‘Ab Aeterno’ is one of the more diverse cuts on Argy’s forthcoming album, ‘The Interior Journey’ on Renaissance Records. Blending Latin-Inspired synth, spoken word, piano and sporadic broken beats, it’s an evocative piece that would suit a number of environments, be it opening a live DJ set, a more experimental mix or any one of Ibiza’s beachside hotspots; although the latter should come as no surprise as the album was recorded on the White Isle, where Argy now spends much of his time.
“It’s probably no accident I’ve come to live here as my awareness of the Balearic movement dates back to childhood. I remember watching Sven Vath’s ‘Esperanza’ music video as a 7 year old boy, it’s a very fond memory,” he explains, “I’m still passionate about that golden era of music and have a deep appreciation for what Jose Padilla and Alfredo, the fathers of Balearic beat, created. The track is my tribute to them and, of course, Jose in particular. His recent loss leaves a huge musical gap that’ll always be hard to fill.”
You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Ab Aeterno’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
