Guy Mantzur has finally returned to his usual DJ routine. After months of studio work, he has re-established his international touring routine. New York, Mexico, Miami, Goa, and many other places have had an opportunity to witness his recent DJ sets. However, that’s not the only thing he has started all over again. Moments! The series of world-famous events are back! Guy J, Eli Nissan, Khen, Edik Erlich, FunKamel, Sahar Z, and Lior Farkash will join Mantzur for an extraordinary gathering on a Tel-Aviv beach on July 8. Let’s find out more about it by the man himself.
WW:D: Hey Guy, welcome back to When We Dip. An exceptional party with Guy J, Eli Nissan, Khen, Sahar Z, and you will take place on a Tel-Aviv beach on July 8th. Can you tell us more about it?
It feels as things are starting to open up slowly, and more optional places for shows are coming up, but there is still a long way to go till the club community gets back to the routine. Anyway, I’m exceptionally grateful that I can perform live again. It makes me deeply fulfilled and happy! I’m excited to get the Moments parties back on track. This construct started with some great gatherings and plenty of plans. Unfortunately, I had to postpone them due to the pandemic. That’s why the current situation feels extra inspiring for me. Moments can finally continue with its concept. We’ve recently had a great party at the Secret Garden in Tel Aviv, and now we are about to do a twelve-hour mini-festival on a beautiful beach located just 20 minutes away from Tel Aviv. For this special edition, I also have my good friend Guy J that I’m always happy to work with, and of course, more good friends and artists such as Sahar Z, Khen, Eli Nissan, etc. When the Moments events were just an idea I had, I imagined precisely this kind of vibe, the location, and the line-up. I’m overwhelmed that my vision is turning into reality!
WWD: What’s going to be different about this event? What can party people expect? What’s going to blow their minds away?
I believe many things are going to be outstanding and distinctively different at the upcoming event. First and foremost, all the DJs are anxious to present the best music they accumulated over the countless months of isolation. Additionally, Guy J will be finally playing in Israel after two years of absence. On top of that, the location is a small heaven. It makes anybody feel home, calm, and disconnected from reality. What is even more exciting for me is that the party will start at night and go far into the sunrise. I can imagine the sun coming up and people becoming aware of the vastness of the ocean. Nothing can beat the feeling of natural beauty merging with the beautiful melodies. It is the driving vision behind the Moments, something that my crew and I want to share with the community of music lovers.
WWD: Moments are not just a series of events. It is also the name of the music label you run. What’s quite interesting is that the parties and releases are synchronized parts of a unified concept. What info can you share about current and future releases on this edgy label?
I started Moments as a brand that joins parties and a record company. Launching the parties gave me a chance to build the community. It also inspired me during the creation of the musical identity of the label. I’m happy to say that I found breathtaking music and artists for the primary releases, and I’m currently working on more releases. The label’s focus is pushing the artists playing at our events. I consider those producers a Moments’ family, and as every family grows, this one will also expand over time. The first release on the label was my EP, and after that, we will release two beautiful tracks from the talented Tamir Regev. Sahar Z & Shai will continue the expansion of the catalog with an EP that I adore. Nonetheless, the real story has just begun. I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to release such talented artists on Moments!
WWD: You’ve recently played in India, Central America, USA etc. Have you felt any changes in the vibe of the music lovers? Is there any difference between parties before the pandemic and now? How do you see the future of the parties?
The only change I see is a higher level of enthusiasm and appreciation! Party people can enjoy themselves more than ever, and the parties are getting wilder than in the past. We should never forget the loved ones we lost due to the spread of the virus. However, I believe humanity should focus on the good things that the pandemic taught us as a species. Human beings should be thankful for all the small things we used to take for granted. It seems that simple activities such as eating outside, or a night at the movie theater, can be considerably joyful. Even a simple walk suddenly seems like a treat. We should appreciate what we have and stop being obsessed with greed.
