Dyno is an Italian artist from Pesaro who had a background as a graphite artist before becoming a DJ and producer of techno music.
He is a veteran of the genre who released his first music in the ‘90s while also DJing in the local clubs in his area of Italy. The success of his music started to earn him international gigs, and over two decades later he is still active within Europe’s techno scene.
In recent years, Dyno has released much of his music via Dyrwalk, which is a label he set up and runs himself, but throughout his career his music has also been featured on other imprints ranging from Suara to 1605.
Selva Oscura is his latest release, and it’s a two-track EP that has dance floor-focused tracks with deep and dark atmosphere, fused with flowing percussion rhythms.
“Selva” opens the release with its dystopian vibe and dubby pads underpinned by tense chords that build suspense. Crisp claps add to the driving energy that leads to the atmospheric breakdown sections which are shrouded in a brooding aura of intensity.
“Oscura” follows the same vibe as the first track but with a bigger focus on percussion, and a ferocious breathing sound making the track feel monstrous in size.
Overall, a very well put together release, which finds the perfect balance between deep atmospherics and aggressive energy.
