Peruvian up and coming producer Ammo Avenue signs up on Superfett Records with Elliot Chapman for a dynamic new house single called ‘Visions.’ Ammo Avenue is a regular at Toolroom, Deeperfect, Rawsome Recordings and he now makes his debut on Superfett.
Right from the off, the infectious drum programming locks you in. Swirling pads build the vibe and add a party feel, as do the well treated and supple vocals. After a playful breakdown the tune kicks once more with a lush vocal that will swell the heart.
This is a fresh and contemporary house track that will fill any set with joy.
WWD: Hello Ammo Avenue! How are you? What’s good and bad in your world?
Hey guys! All great around here 🙂 Feeling good because parties are starting to come back. Feeling bad because hangovers are coming back too.
WWD: What was it like to get back to partying and DJing again after the pandemic?
Gotta say it was hard at first. The comeback has been overall slow around here in Peru, but once things got back in motion it was such a relief. No words to describe the joy of playing live again!
WWD: Tell us about your journey into dance music, when did you first fall in love with it?
In my highschool days! Just before senior year I discovered house music and the diggin never stopped since then.
WWD: And when did you start making it, what sounds and DJs and labels and parties inspired you?
I’m really influenced by the early Hot Creations / Crosstown Rebels sound. That was really hot when I was at school and it still is of course. DJs like Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and David August are my all time favs, leaving aside the huge inspiration that I find from legends such as Daft Punk.
WWD: What is the scene in Peru like, what sounds are popular there? Is there a thriving creative underground
The scene here is great! I think we’ve become a must stop in South America and the reason is because we are a great party-loving, non-sleeping crowd, constantly looking for that underground sound. Gotta say by 2020 the scene was at its peak, just before the Pandemic struck. There were lots of Tech House / House / Techno parties from big brands happening here.
WWD: And what is your own sound, what makes your music unique?
I’d say it’s house music with attitude. I always look for a unique swing bass and drums in my tracks to have a nice special touch on them.
WWD: What gear do you use in the studio make your music and does that matter to you?
I consider myself an “inside the box” producer, meaning I mostly work through my Mac and few external gear. My Moog Minitaur is my weapon of choice! I think it really doesn’t matter how much gear you have, if you are able to portray whatever is in your head thru the equipment you have close to you.
WWD: Where is your best environment as a DJ? A small dark club or a huge outdoor festival stage? Late at night for the weirdos or early so you can play slow and eclectic?
Gotta say I love the after parties and big crowds, but nothing beats an intimate dark club for a medium / small crew and the chance to really set up the night just the way you want it!
WWD: What else have you got coming up/are you working on?
Lots of new music coming thru some of my favorite labels such as Rawthentic, Repopulate Mars, South of Saturn and more! Also my new single “Visions” is available this friday 22nd of October via Superfett records. Finally, I can’t wait to announce a few shows abroad that will be one of the biggest in my career so far 🙂
