WWD: Simon, your upcoming EP on Lost Miracle has caught quite the attention. What inspired the intriguing titles ‘Mature Simplicity’ and ‘Almada’?

Hey guys! Thank you so much for having me. Well titles are a bit of a struggle for me but also sometimes they come easier at least this time for one of the tracks. I got the name for the second one just days before the release on my last trip to Ibiza and Portugal, where it all made sense and I closed the ep names.

WWD: This isn’t just any label – it’s Sébastien Léger’s Lost Miracle. How was your experience working with such a renowned label and how did it influence the overall sound or direction of the EP?

I remember years ago when I started djing and producing, I used to play tracks from Sébastien like Majuro, Marina, Jaguar.

He always had a unique sound.

So about more than ten years later, I received this beautiful message from him saying that he loved my track Lazos, so we kept in touch since then, and I started working on this EP that is released now on his label Lost Miracle.”

WWD: We’re thrilled to be premiering ‘Mature Simplicity’ on When We Dip. Can you share with us the story or the mood you aimed to create with this track?

Thank you guys. Well both tracks from this ep comes out mainly from improvising on the piano. I play until I find something that i feel it’s worth continuing and then move on to the daw record long takes of it and arrange the ideas, bring the synths and drums and build the ideas into a track.

WWD: ‘Almada’ accompanies ‘Mature Simplicity’ in this EP. How do you see it fitting alongside the premiere track, and what do you hope listeners will feel or envision when they hear it?

I believe they complement each other. One of the tracks has perhaps a more serious and profound approach, and then the second track is more hopeful and bright. I think it balances the release.

WWD: With the release of this EP, where do you see your musical journey heading next? Are there any other collaborations or major projects on the horizon we should be looking out for?

I’m happy to release these tracks out, I’ve been playing them for a while on my sets around the world and the reaction around them was really great so I’m excited to finally share them with the world. At the same time this is a more melodic, let’s say, part of myself, but in the past year and months I’ve been producing lots of different kinds of music. So I’m hoping to share some of that too in the future.
