Mustafa Ismaeel makes a triumphant return to Crosstown Rebels, delivering a high energy captivating remix of ‘Heart Pieces’ by Istanbul-based producer and live performer Oceanvs Orientalis, featuring sensational vocals from Idil Mese.

‘Heart Pieces’ is the second single to be unveiled from Oceanvs’s forthcoming album. A dazzling piece of laid-back, jazz-infused house music, marking a reunion with singer-songwriter Idil Mese. Together, they’ve crafted this musical gem, which has been remixed by Crosstown and Rebellion regular Mustafa Ismaeel, as well as legendary house talent and Warp favourite, Nightmares On Wax.

Mustafa’s remix elevates the energy, transforming the track into a dancefloor-ready remix that’s soaked in grooves, yet retains the core essence of the original. With its rolling basslines, groovy percussion and sweeping leads, this remix is a surefire hit that’s bound to ignite the dance floor.

“There might be a hundred ways to deal with heartbreak, and this song might just become one of the remedies. The dance floor has often lifted me when the burden of heartbreak felt too heavy. So when Safak sent me this track, I felt compelled to write a song and compose a melody that could soothe a heartbreak and transform that pain on the dance floor.” – Idil Mese.

“I fell in love with the Original when i first heard it. It resonated with me deeply so I right away envisioned a groovy dance floor version, especially with the lyrics mentioning “Heart Pieces on the dance floor”. I have left many pieces on so many dace floors.” – Mustafa Ismaeel.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Mustafa Ismaeel’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
