Poésie Angulaire presents Detroit’s original LEE CURTISS. The first rework of a series of releases to come out in 2024 from the ‘Paranoid Fantasies LP’ by Montreal’s DELAVELOUR.
LEE CURTISS is coming back in force with a dancefloor killing rework of the song ‘Glimpse of Light’. Lee’s work mirrors his intentions to create nothing else than a powerful tool, made of textures, subtle synths, efficient drum arrangements, and transitions, until the main OG synth emerges (as Lee is known for), unfolding the soul of the song.
François Lebaron (LEBARON), known for its album with Swedish producer Håkan Lidbo released in 2001 (Trigger / Warner) as well as it’s work with his duo Hoopalaï, Felix Da Housecat and Blondish quoted, « I’ve created the Delavelour alter ego to allow myself to go through deeper emotions and to compose music that channels my nostalgic new romantic 80’s roots influences. » Many remixes from the Paranoid Fantasies album are coming out this year from renowned Lebaron’s friends and they will all bring a specific dancefloor approach.
Master of the seductive synth, label visionary, musician, DJ and producer LEE CURTISS has spent two decades passionately bending the dance music industry’s conventions. The music he’s created is as exquisitely crafted and sonically twisted as it is in global demand. As one of the musical engines behind the avant-garde label, production crew, and DJ group Visionquest, alongside Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves, Lee first made his mark in his hometown of Detroit. Lee has showcased his inimitable sound in more than 40 countries, including the world’s most esteemed clubs and festivals, from Fabric London, Watergate Berlin, DC10 Ibiza, to Space Miami, Glastonbury, Movement Festival, EDC and Burning Man. Despite the respect for his roots in electronic music, Curtiss continues to harmonize seemingly unlikely genres with his music production and has done celebrated remix work for pop icons such as Tracey Thorne and director David Lynch. In 2021 Curtiss garnered two Grammy considerations for his work on Soul Clap’s WTF album and had music featured in a major motion picture. Curtiss’ diverse yet refined taste shines through in all he touches, as he ‘Forever contributes to the expansion of dance music.’
