As 2024 begins to flow onwards, what better way to accompany that than with the latest release from Oath sub-label Benthic, which comes courtesy of Lucid Void, who bring a certain kind of never-ending mood, feel, and atmosphere to the table.

The Tbilisi based duo occupy a very intriguing in-between musical space, one which touches upon the expansive feel of big yet subtle techno flourishes, progressive and floating but with a hint of melody all at once.  ‘Inner’ represents their most involving and expansive release to date, and the record spares no expense when it comes to covering as much ground as sonically possible. WWD caught up with the mysterious duo to talk intergalactic travels…

WWD: Hi Lucid Void, how are you? What’s happening in your world at the moment?

Hi! Thank you, we are fine, hope you are well too! At this stage of life, we are travelers of the inner and outer worlds.

WWD: As producers, what message do you hope to convey through your music? What themes or ideas do you find yourselves returning to again and again in your work?

This is a story, a message. Infinite of mind and soul on the journey, on infinite dimensions, which forms a joint of the atmosphere of sounds.

WWD: Can you describe the connection between your music and your Georgian roots and how they continue to influence your music today?

Georgian music is immaterial, it is a connection with the soul and we think that this is one of the main roots of our music.

WWD: Can you tell us about any challenges you have faced in your career and how you overcame them? Have there been any specific obstacles or difficulties?

Exploring sounds is a never-ending magical process.

WWD: Finally, Which are the three records that you’ve been putting in your bag without hesitating?
