With a meticulous curation, ‘Inner Resonance I’ marks a defining moment for Melodic Therapy, bringing together 12 artists from 8 countries, spanning six genres, from Electronica to Melodic Techno and House to Indie Dance. Each track has been handpicked and arranged with the precision of a DJ set, creating a seamless narrative that reflects the diversity, depth, and emotion that define Melodic Therapy’s vision.
The journey begins with Dnl Mike, a passionate enthusiast of modular synthesis based in Germany whose 25-year career in music led to the creation of Dove. Using legendary instruments, including the iconic Roland 808 and 909, the Moog Voyager, and the Juno-106, Mike sets the tone for the VA by creating a unique groove accompanied by deep analogue tones packed with raw emotion.
From Germany to southern Brazil, Kommodo, one of the most relevant participants of the Brazilian Melodic Techno scene, steps in with ‘Born To Be Free,’ a track rooted in percussive-driven grooves and emotional storytelling. Stunning piano chords intertwine with heartfelt vocals, reinforcing his signature ability to craft dancefloor moments that are both moving and liberating.
Lisandro introduces a shift in energy with ‘Eevee.’ A well-known name in the Organic House scene, the Argentine producer brings rolling basslines and organic textures, drawing inspiration from landscapes encountered on his travels. The result is a hypnotic rhythm that will take listeners on an immersive odyssey, either on the dancefloor or with their eyes closed and headphones on.
Hope and warmth take centre stage in Namatjira’s ‘Kera.’ With releases on Anjunadeep, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden, the Netherlands-based producer delivers an uplifting Progressive House gem born from an inspiring message from a fan. With intricate melodies and a groove that oozes optimism, it feels like the soundtrack to a moment of personal realization made to lift the energy on the dancefloors.
Next up is ‘Body Language,’ delivered by the consolidated producer VieL. With deep basslines, dreamy arpeggios and an ever-evolving atmosphere, the Greek producer explores the unspoken connection between music and movement, taking inspiration from his observations on how people express emotions through dance on the dancefloor throughout the last 25 years of his career.
Helming deep into the emotional core of the compilation, the Buenos Aires-based producer Julian Liander delivers ‘Labyrinth.’ Mirroring the journey that music takes you on, the track combines multiple chopped sampled vocals with a groove-infused bassline. Like navigating a labyrinth in real life, this piece is a metaphor for the challenges in life, finding our way through the darkness and unveiling the strength to emerge stronger on the other side.
Camila, one of Argentina’s emerging talents, steers us towards a more introspective territory as she reflects on her constant search for new sounds with ‘On My Mind.’ In a joyful yet melancholic blend of Progressive, Organic, and Deep House, Camila presents progressive melodies and profound vocals that unfold like a memory paired with lush textures fading in and out.
Evan Michael channels years of experience in NYC’s nightlife scene into ‘Panacea’ to pick up the pace in this second half. Having released on the likes of Cin Cin, Hudd Traxx and Culprit, Evan steps in with a no-holds-barred, heads-up approach to House with a 90s Progressive flair with chord stabs, loose snares, and open hi-hats combined to create a driving groove that feels equally nostalgic and forward-thinking.
Back in the southern part of Brazil, TOMA & MeMachine deliver an undeniable club weapon: ‘House Religion.’ Part of a new wave of Brazilian talents, they are continuously mixing the modern and the retro, the emotional and the avant-garde. The result is a mantra-like, hypnotic experience heavily inspired by 90s Trance and Cosmic House with deeply emotive vocals, bridging spiritual depth with dancefloor euphoria.
As the narrative nears its climax, Alessio Pennati delivers the one-of-a-kind ‘Celestial Bodies.’ Aggressive stabs and pulsating bass create tension, while a stunning deep vocal break provides a moment of vulnerability, representing the contained feelings in a particular moment of his life.
To close things off, the London-based Brazilian producer Kaio Batista takes us on a cosmic expedition with ‘Nebula.’ Soft pads combined with atmospheric gentle vocals contrast with an aggressive synth that unfolds into a stunning introspective melody, all that with tight breakbeat drums that are guaranteed to close any DJ set with the right energy and make it unforgettable.
‘Inner Resonance I’ is a testament to the power of sound and artistic diversity. From deep introspection to dancefloor energy, each track tells a story that transcends boundaries and creates an unforgettable journey through the realms of melodic music.
