ÀNIMS is proud to present ‘I’m Falling,’ a deeply emotive collaboration between Pole Position and vocalist LOV.
Built around a delicate yet driving groove, ‘I’m Falling’ captures the emotional intensity of desire and uncertainty—the feeling of chasing a connection that’s just out of reach. LOV’s haunting vocal performance adds raw intimacy to the track, evoking the rush of new attraction, that moment when time slows down, and nothing else seems to matter. Her lyrics explore the vulnerability of falling for someone hard, caught between hope and doubt, presence and distance.
Complementing the original, Andy Bros delivers a powerful remix that expands the track’s emotional depth into a late-night, melodic journey—retaining its essence while reimagining it for the dancefloor.
‘I’m Falling’ is a standout moment in Pole Position’s evolving catalogue—personal, cinematic, and made to resonate both in the club and far beyond.
You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘I’m Falling’ exclusively on When We Dip. Plus, we sat down with LOV to discuss working Pole Position & Fiona Kraft, her idols, and what she’s got planned for the rest of the year. Enjoy!
WWD: Hey LOV, great to chat with you 🙂 How has your 2025 been so far?
Hi guys! Thanks so much for having me 🙂
2025 has been amazing so far! I’ve released a few tracks already, but there’s still so much more to come. I’ve got a couple of unreleased songs that are dropping very soon, and I can’t wait to share them.
WWD: Can you tell us about your new collaboration, the ‘I’m Falling’ EP with Spanish artists Pole Position? What’s the vibe, what inspired it, and how did it come about?
I’m so happy about this collaboration. The vibe of the track is warm, nostalgic, and emotional, but still super danceable. It lives somewhere between house and indie electronica.
Pole Position and I connected after I released ‘Unforgiving Love’ with ĀEMYGDALA on their label ANIMS back in February. The track received a lot of DJ support and Pole Position had been playing it too. They reached out and asked if I’d be interested in collaborating, and of course I said yes!
With ‘I’m Falling,’ I wanted to capture that feeling of longing for someone who feels just out of reach, like when you see them in a dream, but something’s missing. It’s about chasing a connection, not knowing where it’ll lead, and then suddenly feeling something real, even if it’s only fleeting.
The song explores the emotions of falling hard for someone, the way they become the one thing that makes everything else fade into the background. The inspiration came from that rush when you meet someone and everything slows down. You get butterflies, your heart races, and it feels like you might be falling in love. But at the same time, there’s that uncertainty, wondering if it’s real or just something you’re hoping for. That mix of excitement, vulnerability, and hope really shaped the lyrics.
WWD: You also collaborated with Fiona Kraft on her Non Merci Music label. How did that come about? That was your second single with her, correct?
Yes! It’s called ‘Let Go’ and it came out in July. It’s actually my third release on the Non Merci label, and it’s a track I’m really proud of. It’s been in the works for a long time.
I met Fiona a few years ago when she did a remix of ‘Fading to Silence,’ a track I made with Sifa and Boddhi Satva. That was actually my first-ever afro-house track. Although the remix was never officially released, she played it at Hï Ibiza during a set with Black Coffee, which was amazing!
Some time later, she sent me the first draft of ‘Let Go.’ As soon as I heard the instrumental, I got to writing right away, it was so beautiful and inspiring. We originally planned to release it last year, but we both agreed it needed to be perfect, and now it finally is. It’s a perfect follow-up to our previous track, ‘Dreams.’
WWD: What’s the creative process like with Fiona? How involved is she in shaping the vocal style and lyrics?
Working with Fiona is incredible. She gives me so much creative freedom. She usually sends over the instrumentals and just lets me do my thing. I think we’re very aligned musically, we understand each other without needing to say too much. That kind of chemistry is rare and makes the creative process feel really natural.
WWD: How do you write lyrics, and when? What inspires you?
Honestly, I don’t write as often as I probably should! I write at random times, whenever inspiration strikes. Sometimes I’ll be lying in bed trying to fall asleep, and suddenly a line or idea comes to me, so I write it down in my notes to use later.
There are days when I don’t write anything at all, and then suddenly I get hit with inspiration from something totally random. Most of the time, I write lyrics as soon as I receive a new instrumental. The music usually sparks something and the words just start flowing. I’m a very messy and disorganised writer, but when it happens, it happens fast and naturally.
WWD: Do you prefer to be literal or abstract with your lyrics, or does it depend on the moment?
It really depends on the song, but I generally prefer to be more abstract. I like leaving room for interpretation. I mostly write about feelings, and everyone experiences emotions differently. That’s what I want my lyrics to reflect, like an abstract painting where everyone can find their own meaning.
WWD: Are there any artists you look up to in terms of style or the careers they have had?
There are so many! I’ve always loved Lady Gaga, I was completely obsessed with her as a teenager. Her style, her boldness, her whole presence really inspired me. She was actually the one who first introduced me to electronic music.
Lana Del Rey is another big one for me. I adore her songwriting and the moody, cinematic vibe she creates. I guess I’ve always had a bit of a “sad girl” inside, haha. Alt-J also have a special place in my heart. I love how immersive and trippy their sound is—it’s like going on a journey with every track.
What ties all these artists together for me is that they each have such a strong, recognisable identity. That’s something I really admire and aspire to develop in my own work.
WWD: How do you get in the right head space before singing, or can you just turn up and perform?
I usually feel quite nervous before performing—but I actually enjoy that “butterflies in your stomach” feeling. It gives me a little adrenaline boost.
Before going on stage, I always take a few deep breaths and drink some warm ginger tea with honey. That little ritual helps calm my nerves and gets my voice ready.
WWD: What else do you have lined up for the rest of 2025 that you can mention?
There’s a lot of exciting stuff in the works, but unfortunately, I can’t reveal anything just yet, stay tuned
WWD: Finally, if you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Bob Moses or WhoMadeWho. I’m such a fan of their sound, and I feel like our voices would blend beautifully. But hey, a girl can dream, right? 🙂
WWD: You have to dream big! Thanks for the chat 😉
