Disclosure honour 30 years of Faithless’ ‘Insomnia’ with raw, percussive rework

Electronic heavyweights Disclosure return with a rolling rework of Faithless’ timeless anthem ‘Insomnia,’ celebrating three decades of one of dance music’s most defining tracks.

The impact of ‘Insomnia’ can’t be overstated. Over the past 30 years, it has become woven into the fabric of UK dance culture – an enduring symbol of sleepless euphoria that continues to inspire generations of artists. From underground clubs to festival main stages, the track remains a universal anthem, still finding its way into the record bags and sets of the world’s most respected DJs.

To mark its 30th anniversary, Disclosure have reimagined the classic through their own lens, debuting their live version during an explosive 2025 Glastonbury set. Driven by live drums and an acid bassline, their ‘2025 Edit’ injects raw, percussive energy into the track while honouring its unmistakable tension and release. The result bridges eras and sounds, breathing new life into a dance classic while staying true to its spirit. What began as a one-off live edit soon evolved into a full collaboration, after Sister Bliss reached out to the duo to make the release official.

Disclosure say: “Last year for our live show at Glastonbury, we made a live version of one of the greatest electronic music songs of all time – ‘Insomnia’ by the legendary band Faithless. To our delight Sister Bliss reached out and suggested we put out the version we made as a collaboration for all our fans to enjoy. We couldn’t be more honoured to be asked & never thought reworking this track would lead to such a special moment for us.”

Sister Bliss adds: “We are so excited to present Disclosure’s 2025 edit of Insomnia. It’s a great and funky tribute to Maxi & our beloved UK dance music scene, and a totally unexpected moment in their Glastonbury set that really touched us deeply. It’s a privilege to see our influence on the next generation of artists – Maxi would be very proud to see how much this song is still being enjoyed.”

Disclosure’s ‘Insomnia (2025 Edit)’ stands as both a love letter and a tribute to Faithless’ monumental legacy, to Maxi Jazz, and to the unifying spirit of UK dance culture. It’s a reminder that, even three decades on, some tracks never sleep.
