Greece has quietly become one of the most reliable sources of warm, emotive dance music, and two of its most consistent exports are back with something special. Ilias Katelanos and Plecta have spent the last few years building a shared catalogue of melodic, dancefloor-focused releases, and on ‘Lose Control’ they team up with vocalist Eleonora for a single that feels tailor made for open-air sunsets and late-night rooms alike.
Landing on Prague’s Melody Of The Soul, ‘Lose Control’ is a piece of organic house that moves with real intention. A rolling low-end and hand-played percussion set a hypnotic foundation, while shimmering synth work and delicate melodic touches keep the energy lifted from start to finish. At the centre of it all is Eleonora, whose unmistakable voice threads through the arrangement and gives the track its emotional pull, turning a groove-driven cut into something you feel as much as you dance to.
Ilias Katelanos, splitting his time between Athens and Koh Phangan, has become a familiar name across the organic and progressive house world thanks to his deep, trippy signature and a run of releases on respected labels. Plecta, the Athens-based producer and mastering engineer also known as Apostolis Loussis, brings a refined, detail-focused touch that has made the pair a natural duo since they first joined forces in 2022. Eleonora, a Berlin-based singer and producer with hundreds of collaborations to her name, has lent her voice to labels including Anjunabeats, Armada and The Soundgarden, and her presence here lifts the whole record.
The home for all of this is Melody Of The Soul, the Prague label founded by M.O.S. that has carved out a reputation for emotive, soul-led electronic music. ‘Lose Control’ sits perfectly within that world, and it is a fitting way to keep the label’s run of quality organic house going.
