Dublin is feeling a certain buzz at the moment and long may it continue, with such positive vibes around, it’s really been great to see Irish creativity finding its feet again. As such, WWD welcomed the announcement of a new two day indoor festival this week, created by both POD and Hidden agenda, two promotional groups who have been putting a lot of energy into the electronic music scene over the last few years.
Metropolis festival will take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November at The Royal Dublin Society on Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin. The organisers promise six rooms, all indoors, with music, conversations and installations curated by This Greedy Pig.
The line-up is both eclectic and impressive;
The first announcements include: CHIC feat Nile Rodgers, The Roots, Mark Ronson (DJ set), Jamie XX, Giorgio Moroder, Todd Terje, Kaytranada, Jeff Mills, Tiga and Kerri Chandler
Further announcements include: KINK, Dorian Concept, Matthew Herbert, Maribou State, Nosaj Thing, Kormac’s Big Band and Cloud Castle Lake.
Early bird Metropolis festival weekend tickets go on sale this Friday (July 24) at 9am. They’ll be priced at 99.50 EUR (approximately £70), including booking fee, through Ticketmaster.ie
