Montreal man Jonathan Doyon AKA Eekkoo continues his rise this month. The latest piece from the Canadian producer sees him returning to the dark, upfront grooves of the techno underworld. Eekkoo is fresh from showcasing his softer side having featured “4th Bell”, a collaboration with fellow on-form Montrealers Flowers and Sea Creatures (Innervisions, My Favourite Robot) on Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris.
New production “Sloan’s Dress’ brings that signature raw power back to the table. The track offers a tense, brooding five and a half minute journey, exuding the class Eekkoo has become renowned for with an awesome ensemble of palpable, industrial textures and a mind-blowing bass-line. The individual elements are fused together by a ludicrously tasty hi-hat and a crunchy clap sound. Doyon’s studio prowess cannot be denied and as he enters what is fast becoming an incredibly rich vein of form, one can be sure 2016 will be a telling year for the producer.
