2016 was a big year for London. Aside from gaining a new mayor they also received something else a bit more special: a brand new outdoor techno festival aptly named Junction 2. This was the first of its kind for London, something the cultural capital had never experienced before, with a line-up that really was second to none and an event space that can only best be described as outlandish. That may be in the past now but don’t fear: on the 10th of June 2017 Junction 2 is making its return.
Boston Manor Park may not be the most well-known space in London, nor the biggest, but it’s safe to say it is one of the most characterful event spaces you’ll come across. Woodland wilderness and soft shrubbery intersect directly below a towering motorway bridge. Add to that the dense tree cover that surrounds either side of the structure, and you’ll quickly start to see why Junction 2 can certainly be described as ground-breaking. The site is completely unorthodox, so different from any other event space, that it really does set it apart from most London festivals. This was home to the festivals debut and will be its home for a second year running, but this time the game’s been stepped up a gear.
Created by London Warehouse Events, and hosted by the esteemed likes of Drumcode, The Hydra and Sonus festival, this year’s edition sees five stages of music grace the London park with a line-up that really is unparalleled. Joining Adam Beyer at the Drumcode stage will be Tale of Us and Ben Klock to name a few, whilst over on the Sonus stage Joseph Capriati and Sam Paganini will be laying down some devilishly dark techno to get any raver moving and grooving. Even with just those few names mentioned it’s enough to get anyone drooling, but it gets better. Daphni and DJ Koze front The Hydra stage, whilst Britain’s Alan Fitzpatrick and Belgian Charotte de Witte play alongside Chris Liebing for an all-day party at the Warehouse stage. That’s four down with one to go, and tastefully bringing up the rear is Into the Woods. This is what has upped the festivals game this year: a stage set deep within a line of trees, into the woodland, showcasing the scenes top up and coming DJs all within the beautiful backdrop of the British countryside. If techno is what you’re after then you’ve come to the right place.
And so, the countdown begins. With less than three months to go there’s excitement in the air as the wait for Junction 2 festival slowly goes by. The line-up is unparalleled while the location is unorthodox – the perfect formula for a successful festival. For tickets click here and catch the full line up below.
