This coming Friday, Husa Sounds and Frontrite will present Montreal with a producer who released his first record in 2011 when he was just 14. He has since released a staggering amount of top notch tracks on labels including Innervisions, Dynamic, fryhide, Cityfox, Poker Flat Recordings and Einmusika. Tim Engelhardt is leading the charge of a new wave of young digital native artists, pulling influence from all sorts of genres with his fingers on the keys and pan pots of vintage synths, sequencers and drum machines. The Cologne native is a true electronic musician and performer who continues to bolster his reputation as one of the most exciting talents to emerge in recent years with an impressively constant stream of releases. In the last two months, 7 tracks have been released with his name on them and he has another 3 remixes due to drop in the next week. Over the last years, he has sculpted this immense bank of music into a truly unique live set and has recently begun touring it around parts of Asia, Europe and now, North America. Montreal will have its turn to experience him for the first time when he makes the trip north from his tour of the US, this Friday the 20th at Newspeak.
Warming up the devoted Montreal crowd will be our very own radio and A&R man, Dexter Crowe, followed by, Jimmy Be. As a resident at Stereo Afterhours and at some of the best underground parties in the city, Jimmy Be has built himself a solid reputation in the local scene and will no doubt have the energy high leading into the main event.
