Seemingly out of nowhere, the first time Ronnie Spiteri turned heads on the global circuit was in 2016 when Jamie Jones dropped his track ‘Thin & Crispy’ during a live BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix broadcast from his Paradise party on the iconic terrace at DC10, Ibiza. For many this would be a career high – for Ronnie though, it was a benchmark of things to come.

Fast forward to 2019 and Ronnie has already ticked off a coveted summer residency at Amnesia, Ibiza for Do Not Sleep, released a Beatport Top 20 debut artist album, ‘True Colours’, which was supported by Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber and Hot Since 82, had his Multiply EP on Knee Deep In Sound named by Pete Tong as his Essential New Tune, as well as being tipped as 2018’s ‘Future Star’ by Pete – a prediction that Ronnie has rightly earned and more importantly, lived up to. He’s releasing his ‘Talking To Nature’ EP on ‘We Are The Brave’ on the 1st March and he’ll be playing at Alan Fitzpatrick’s Day on the 17th March. Event Details here.

Amnesia Ibiza

The club feels like a second home for me now, but it was seven years ago when I first went to Amnesia – Jamie Jones and Marco Carola went B2B all-night-long and I was the first one in the club and the last one to leave. It was such an amazing experience and that and is my #1 night out ever, still to this day.

Space Ibiza

Another first time that has stuck with me is at Space when I was in Ibiza with all my Junk family – we rented a 20 bedroom villa for 4 days as they had some event on the island. Somehow, I ended up going to Space on my own and went to see Carl Cox, as you can imagine I stayed there all-night partying and remember getting back to the villa on my own and everyone asking where I had been! That club was another world which you could easily get lost in for hours, I remember being on that dance floor like it was yesterday.

Junk Southampton

Junk was such a special place for me as I spent most of my weekends there for eight solid years. I had so many top nights there both playing and also raving – these days I tend to experience clubs from the DJ booth but Junk was one place where I really knew the club inside out and was able to enjoy it just as much from the dance floor as I did from the booth.

Vista Ibiza

Another incredible Ibiza venue (if you’ve been, you’ll know what I mean when I talk about that sunrise) – it was the first Do Not Sleep Show I went to as a raver and will never forget being in the crowd when Darius Syrossian dropped my demo ‘Thin & Crispy’ which I’d sent him for the label ‘Do Not Sleep’ and the place went nuts! So not only did that happen, but then we stayed late (early?) enough to see the sunrise from the dancefloor which really captured everyone in that moment.

Printworks London

As a venue, this place is nuts and such a great concept with all the original printing machinery still inside the warehouse, and the warehouse itself is just crazy… I was not old enough to rave in the 90s but after going to a Drumcode night there where I went up with my good old mate Reset Robot, I got the feeling that that’s what it was like. There aren’t many venues which have a long, narrow dancefloor like they do at Printworks and it really just emphasises how epic the place is
