Miane again assures her status as a core part of the Moon Harbour family with yet another irresistible tech house weapon in the form of ‘You Belong To Me.’
This latest tune follows the huge ‘My Head’ late last year and marks another evolution in her style. Malaga born but Ibiza based Miane was hotly tipped all over the scene last year, not least with her inclusion on Spotify’s Electronic Rising Playlist. She brings plenty of the Balearic spirit of her homeland to her music but also knows how to work a dark, sweaty warehouse rave with her powerful grooves. They have come on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound and Saved and have often got played by big wigs such as Eats Everything and Marco Carola.
Once again here, Miane finds a sweet spot between tech house and techno and layered in vocals for an extra personal sound. The brilliantly robust ‘You Belong To Me’ has scuffed metal hits and rugged drums with neat chord stabs keeping you on edge. The vocals are imbued with a sense of lust and the vast kick drums to plenty of work in making you move.
This is another powerful single from one of electronic music’s most essential new talents.
WWD: Hi Miane, thanks for taking your time to talk to When We Dip. How was your start into 2021 so far?
Hello, it is a pleasure! Well, this 2021 … exactly it’s being a little weird, I suppose that for everyone, but trying to be positive and trying to continue to maintain ourselves in a proper way!
WWD: You have a new release on Matthias Tanzmann’s label ‘Moon Harbour’, how did you get involved with the label and can you tell us a little about the record?
I came to Moon Harbor thanks to my track ‘House so House’ on Knee Deep in Sound, Anek made it come to Matthias Tanzmann, and from there … Here I am! My next single on the label is ‘You Belong To Me’. This track is super special because I rarely show this side of me. The truth is that I am very happy with the support of the Moon Harbour family, my music here, feels very sheltered like myself.
WWD: Are there any new releases coming up in the next months?
Sure! After ‘You Belong To Me’ we have on April 2, my debut on Realm Records, Gorgon city’s label… Also, there are several collaborations with various artists in the oven, stay tuned!
WWD: 2020 was a hard year for the community. How was this time for you, how do you spend your spare time without touring?
I have always liked to enrich my knowledge and improve myself every day, basically in that, I try to work in what I doubt. Also, I have been hunting some objectives that due to lack of time, were more difficult to achieve, but here I am!
WWD: And now that it’s over, what’s on the horizon for 2021?
Uncertainty is the worst thing in this world, I trust that at least at the end of the year, the industry will see a light at the end of the tunnel, but for now … Let’s keep working on the studio!
WWD: What are your passions and pursuits outside of the DJ booth and studio?
If I had to say one, I would say play paddle, but music is my job and my hobby. At the moment I did not find anything else that fills me so much. That feeling of having found the right vocal…Hahaha!
WWD: Thanks for your time Miane, Is there something else you would like us to know?
Don’t drop the ball, that nothing is forever! We will be back soon.
