D-Formation and Matan Caspi have decided to join forces to unveil a new track. The two leaders of two great labels, Beatfreak Recordings & Outta Limits, have teamed up and created the magic track called ‘Arc Of Dreams’. The song is a symbiosis between magnificent melody, beautiful voices, and modern dance rhythm. A must-have piece of music that every music lover should have.

We had the pleasure to talk with the two producers about their collaboration, their label, and more. Enjoy!

WWD: It’s great to have you today for a quick chat! How are you, guys, and how everything goes for you in these times?

D-Formation: First of all, it is a pleasure to be able to share these words with WWD. Actually, it has been a rather unusual time, where in my case I have had time to do things that I haven’t done before. Even so, I think that even doing other things, it has been the year that I have made a lot of music – more than ever before, but I always miss that feeling of being in front of the public and playing my tracks, but it seems that we see the light at the end of the tunnel and of course I’m looking forward to this.

Matan Caspi: It’s great to be here as well, thank you for having us on your channel and for the interview. I believe it has been a tough year for everybody but we hope that from here things will only improve as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

WWD: How does the nightlife look in your country right now and is there a possibility we can dance together again in your cities?

D-Formation: I haven’t really seen nightlife in my country since the pandemic started. In Spain and Madrid specifically, which is where I live, we have been lucky enough to have some day parties but with many restrictions. However, I believe that the day is very close when we can dance together again and leave the COVID 19 as a bad memory.

Matan Caspi: Right now, In Israel, things are looking much better than a few months back we had long lockdowns coming and going but now we have only minimal restrictions, the nightlife and big events are back in full power so that is certainly a cheering thing to see, overall, it pretty much feels like the Covid-19 is behind us, let’s hope it will stay this way.

WWD: You guys joined forces and created this beautiful track that we are premiering on WWD called “Arc Of Dreams”. Tell us how did you come up with this idea.

D-Formation: Here is the moment to say that I am very happy to have collaborated with Matan Caspi, the two of us have got on very well together and the ideas have flowed very well between us. Actually, there are 2 collaborations, the first of them went on sale on April 30th and it’s called ‘When It All Shuts Down feat. Josh Friend’ that was released on his label Outta Limits, currently it is at number 3 on the Beatport Progressive House chart. The second collaboration is ‘Arc Of Dreams’ the latter will be released on May 18th on my label Beatfreak Recordings and we have the pleasure of being able to present it exclusively as a premiere for When We Dip, of course, I hope it can go as well as the previous one.

Matan Caspi: The first release on Outta Limits was more of my idea and Dimas just spread his magic on it and vice versa we did with ‘Arc Of Dreams’ – Dimas came up with this beautiful melody and beat and I put my ideas on top.

WWD: You both are owners & leaders of 2 very successful labels. Could you tell all the producers out there what is needed in order to have music signed on them?

D-Formation: Well, I want to encourage all producers who like Beatfreak to submit their demos and they can do so at this email: [email protected]. As it cannot be any other way, we look a lot at the quality of the tracks that are sent to us. We listen to absolutely all the demos but unfortunately, we can’t answer all the emails as we receive a lot. Anyway, the producers who submit their music to Beatfreak have to know that if we see something clear for any of our labels we will get back in touch.
Together with Beatfreak Recordings we also manage Beatfreak Limited which is more dedicated to supporting new talents since we think that everyone deserves an opportunity and since it is impossible to release everything on Beatfreak Recordings. The brother label is the ideal place for everyone to be under the Beatfreak signature.

Matan Caspi: Together with my good friend and partner Stan Kolev, we own 3 labels, the first one is Outta Limits which is basically our flagship label and follow a very specific line of music, and a daughter label called Revolt Music where we give a stage to new young producers to express themselves among some stronger names. The third label is a new label called ‘Out Of The Blue’ which is an Ethno, Atmospheric D&B, Downtempo and Chill Out label. We have our main demo email which is [email protected] where demos can be sent and any of our labels (SoundCloud private links only). Our A&Rs are great producers as well (Aaron Suiss and Teklix) and they are listening to all the demos sent. Due to the high volume of demos we receive, we can only get back to the ones we see fit in of our labels so if you never heard back from us, don’t give up and keep sending us your demos.

WWD: What are your future plans and what we can expect from both of you or maybe together again?

D-Formation: As I mentioned above, it has been a very good experience to work with Matan Caspi, who from now on is my brother as well 🙂
He is a great producer and musician, everything has flowed very well between us, we have put the best of each one of us in each track, and the result has been incredible. Each of us has given birth to a track in our studio which in my case has been ARC OF DREAMS but that Matan has managed to perfectly adapt to the original idea of the track and most importantly, we have known how to respect the vision of each one of us in each of the tracks and add even more with our touch.
For my part I would be delighted to be able to think about a second EP, it would be great.

Matan Caspi: Right now, the plans are mostly to go back on touring and obviously keep producing. This is our first collaboration together and we are very happy to see the result of the first track ‘When It All Shuts Down’. Working on these two tracks with Dimas was a lot of fun, he is a great musician, felt he dedicated himself for the end result, even if we had different opinion about a certain sound or a lead, we always knew to find the way to line up our energies and come up with the best end result. Certainly, there is what to look for a follow EP.)
