The Berlin-born artist Joplyn, with Vietnamese and Canadian heritage, is a prodigal talent who made her first major impact in the electronic music world with her impressive collaboration with none other than Booka Shade. The track ‘Polar Lights’ which she co-wrote with the iconic duo featured on their ‘Dear Future Self’ album last year.

A piano player since the age of six, the music she writes is the product of poems and short stories that explore identity, transience, and new beginnings. Her maiden offering on Watergate Records, marking the final release of 2021 for the label, is a dreamy two-tracker, both of which feature her own vocals. ‘Fact & Fiction’ is gorgeous, coming to life through lush pads and delicate percussion. ‘Can’t Get Enough’ gets into your head via a harmonic vocal line and blissful layers of melody that demonstrate her talent for a delicate pop hook that simultaneously moves the dancefloor.
