Kora & Wuachuma join forces once again to create the beautiful song ‘Un Palmier Dans La Neige’. The track will be released on the Piknic Electronik’s compilation ‘Planète Piknic’.

Kora says:

“‘Un Palmier Dans La Neige’ is a song we started writing in an inspiring studio deep in the Laurentide forest last winter. As a snowstorm was blowing, Adrien and I were locked in the studio for days creating a very warm and percussive story that was inspired by the jungle. As the abstract collage of sounds started coming together, our friend Jacky from Panama sent us voice notes at the perfect timing and his heart-warming voice became a lead element that inspired the rest of the story.

I love creating music with Adrien as I feel our friendship evolves every time we make a song together. We spent countless hours in the studio together by now so there’s a lot of trust and efficiency in our process, which I believe allows more room for creativity, fun and craziness!

Adrien and I felt ’Un Palmier Dans La Neige’ was the right song to share on Planète Piknic as it is inspired by both summer and winter energy, all in the spirit of sharing a groovy story that represents our local landscapes. With the recent climate change events that froze Texas and brought snowstorms to Mexico City in July, ‘A palm tree in the snow’ title is also a little reminder of the warnings Mother Earth is giving us in the hope to inspire a better relationship with our ecosystem!

Wuachuma says:

“Having an opportunity to work with Mikael on music is always such a blessing for me. It’s rare that I get to work with someone who is as passionate about pushing the boundaries of creating unique musical compositions. To add to that, someone who is able to stay up for 48 hours straight with me without the slightest doubt (best vibes…). Composing “Un Palmier Dans La Neige” was truly one of the most surreal and special studio experiences I’ve had with Mikael (we’ve had our fair share of all nighters so this says a lot!). It’s funny because the vocals in the tracks are from our good friend Jackie and his wife Sandra. They’re very close with Mike and sent us a Whatsapp message while we were recording the song. We decided to randomly insert the audio from their voice note in the track… and next thing you know.. MAGIC. From there, everything just made sense and came together & Un Palmier Dans La Neige was created. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
