Tel Aviv-based artist Tomper makes a striking debut on Marginalia with ‘It Works’ — a deeply personal, club- driven release that explores emotion through tension and restraint. The EP showcases Tomper’s signature ability to balance melodic progression with hypnotic grooves, delivering two original cuts that invite both introspection and movement.

Opening the EP is ‘It Works’ — a stripped-back gospel house cut that patiently unfolds around a euphoric vocal, tightly wound percussion and a sub-heavy groove. Its mechanical core is softened by the unexpected warmth of a looping piano motif, which drifts in like a distant memory, adding a melodic lift that offsets the track’s otherwise hypnotic pressure. Moving dance floors with its soulful energy, the track ties the release together with understated finesse and late-night depth.

The second track of the EP, ‘Prometti In Paradiso,’ builds around a haunting vocal line and layered textures, evoking a sense of longing wrapped in warm analogue hues. It’s a slow-burning piece that grows with subtle force, holding space between the emotional and the physical.

The EP closes with longtime Italian producer Ivan Masa stepping in on remix duties, bringing his distinct, acid- tinged flair to the track. Known for releases on Suara, EIN2, and ATLANT — and supported by icons like Solomun — Ivan transforms ‘Prometti In Paradiso’ into a more urgent, peak-time moment. With pulsating energy and hypnotic builds, his remix injects raw momentum while preserving the soul of the original.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘It Works’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
