The Return Of Felix

Nothing made me happier than to see this pop up on my newsfeed today. One of the game’s genuine House masters is back in business. From the sound of his new EP a return to form is imminent for Chicago native, Felix Da Housecat. Having based himself in London of late it’s clear he has been spending extensive time in the studio, working alongside a busy touring schedule. ‘Sinner Winner’ and ‘Give Me Body’ have that signature groove we’ve come to associate with Da Housecat. With his relocation to London (taking him back to the place he got his initial break) he seems to have a renewed verve and it’s certainly shining through in his work.

Now to the tracks themselves, ‘Sinner Winner’ features a fantastic sample of a southern preacher over a bouncy, driving bassline, it’s primed to deliver damage on the dancedfloor. The second offering, ‘Give Me Body’ is a more disco orientated affair, packing a great deal of funk. It’s got a high energy build which breaks down into an addictive disco sample. Both tracks should go down well upon full release on March 18th via NYC imprint ‘No Shame’. We can also look forward to the tantalizing prospect of a forthcoming Felix essential mix Feb 22nd (with plans to Live stream the event this will definitely be worth tuning in for).

P.S. Cheeky little remix of ‘Give Me Body’ from Green Velvet sounds like just the ticket.
