MK comes to Dublin…

When We Dip

28 March 2013
Pioneering Producer / DJ Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen has been one of house music’s most inspiring and talked about names since he began making music at an early age under the watchful eye of legendary Detroit producer Kevin Saunderson. Back in the early 90s, Marc Kinchen almost single-handedly pioneered a signature sound for the then relatively new genre of house music. His releases from that era such as ‘Burning’ and ‘Always’ and remixes like Nightcrawlers’ ‘Push the Feeling On’ are still ubiquitous and have, in the last year or so, served more as house blueprints, copied ad nauseam by young producers of the day. As such, MK’s influence on the current state of house music cannot be underestimated.

2012 heralded the return of this immensely talented man to the height of his house powers. It appears that even after a long sabbatical from the scene his talents remain undiminished. The trademark MK creativity is there for all to see. His remix work on Storm Queen track ‘Look Right Through’ was groundbreaking and led the way for other gems including a rework of Huxley smash No Matter What and Hot Natured anthem Benediction. His endeavors alongside Hot Creations honchos Jamie Jones and Lee Foss earned him widespread praise and led to worldwide touring schedule. The fantastic Electricity alongside buddy Foss and rising star Anabel Englund was probably the cherry on top of an already phenomenal year for Kinchen. With all this in mind it seems there is no better time for this house legend to make an appearance in Ireland at Residence. Support on the night comes from Stalwart David DeValera and two Dublin based DJs who are making a name for themselves on the deep house scene, Marcus and Gavin Kenny.
