Couldn’t let another day go by without a little post on a man we’ve been watching ever since his track “Give It Some Time’ touched our eardrums. In the past year Donegal man Reuben Keeney has had a plethora of releases on respected monikers like Toolroom, Vicious Records and Mixmash as well as the well respected Wooha! Records.
The past few weeks have seen the releases coming quick and fast. Firstly we saw the fruits of his recent collaboration with Manchester based Audiofun. Released on Wooha! ‘Solar’ is a blend of both their styles which has receieved support from Nicky Romero, Jordy Dazz, TV Noise and the honorable Tommie Sunshine. Featuring a energy loaded breakdown and punchy drop it’s easy to see how this one found its way into the playlists of Romero.
Just this past week Keeney added another feather to his belt in the form of his debut release on Dim Mak. Another collaboration this time with fellow Irishman Rafii it’s no surprise Aoki has snapped this one up. A delicious vocal sample rides over some tight chords before dropping into pure dancefloor mayhem. This will be a festival favourite this summer. It’s built for those massive outdoor arenas. Another successful release for the Irishman and something which shows off his diversity as a producer.
