After upending the capital’s Lost Society for Electric Ballroom late in 2012 Darius Syrossian returns to Dublin for Strictly Deep in The Kitchen this Friday and it’s simply not one to be missed!
Darius is a maestro of the music game. A DJ, an integral part of Steve Lawer’s Viva crew and the host of the Viva Music show but most impressively for us here at WWD, a producer of the purest house music. The man has a serious collection of originals including My Side Project, Return of The Favela People and his latest ‘Destination’ EP is absolutely killer. But that’s not all, remixes get the full treatment too!
These tracks certainly have an edge that packs them full of character. It’s this edge that gives rise to the Syrossian sound. You really have to listen to understand. With house vibes resonating throughout the intros, his tracks take on a new dimension when they erupt into the main body. After just one listen you’ll realize that his music has a groove and a real bounce to it. These tracks are packed full of bass and individuality and for WWD, really encapsulate what the Syrossian style is all about.
After holding a monthly residency at the Manchester club, Darius is coming fresh from playing the Sankeys closing party on Monday. Here’s a taste of what he’s brought to Sankeys in the past just to get you in the mood!
