Having finished off 2012 with their take on TEED’s ‘Your Love’ and the resounding success of their I Want You You EP, Waze & Odyssey kicked off 2013 in style. With killer remixes for Duke Dumont and Maceo Plex accompanied by the release of the Be Right There EP on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records, the standard for the year to follow was certainly set high. If the title track of that EP didn’t get you with its bangin’ bouncy beat and soulful vocals, the duo certainly ‘Found The Rhythm’ with the powerful second track!
They followed that sensational EP with a remix of Ejeca’s ‘Riddim’ which featured alongside the rising star from Northern Ireland’s ‘Essential New Tune’, ‘Night Rays’ on the second release off the guys very own newly established label W&O; Street Tracks. A label certainly destined for bigger things if the first couple of releases are anything to go by.
But the latest installment from the pair, who’s influence and dominate positioning in the UK House scene is ever increasing, was just too good to pass by. The Please Don’t Dance EP released on Dirt Crew Recordings teases the listener right off the bat. It’s hard to do anything but dance. Opening with ‘All For Me’ this deep house bomb with the signature Waze & Odyssey edge really sets the tone for the title track to follow. This title track features a remix of enormous proportions from Dirt Crew boys Detroit Swindle and is certainly set to destroy dance floors with it’s driving rhythm. However, the original did it for us here at WWD. The claps lead the way for the huge bassline to take center stage before the vocals are introduced and tightly knit everything together. It’s pure quality.
Yet another masterful production from the guys. 2013 and Ibiza are just two words that have Waze & Odyssey written all over it!
