Dublin Welcomes Diynamic’s David August

It is appropriate that just as we welcome the month of August, we will also welcome it’s namesake, David August, to Dublin’s Button Factory this weekend.

The Diynamic label is one which has been capturing our eye this past year and we’re never shy to sing it’s praises, none more recent than our review of the label chief Solomun’s +1 night at Pacha, Ibiza. That night was simply spectacular and since then The Diynamic Neon Night has gotten into full flow down the road in Sankeys. Here, Solomun showcases the best his label has to offer on a weekly basis and after we gave him full support last year, David August has played a central role yet again this year with a trio of Live performances.

However, this weekend sees him bring his Live set to The Button Factory, Dublin, courtesy of a joint booking from local promoters Abstract and Bedlam. Here, the Hamburg native will surely showcase some sounds from his new album ‘Times’. An album which has stirred remarks about August’s musical maturity given his youthful age of 22 but undoubtedly an album which has also been met with acclaim for this rather classical approach to dance music in the midst of waves of tripe coming from the onslaught of ‘EDM’. The perfect representation of this being Blossom. A track which oozes classical character and quality.

With an album full of similar tracks and hopefully the inclusion of some of his older gems, namely Hamburg Is For Lovers, the crowd and WWD alike will be very happy campers come Sunday night. With support on the night coming from Colin Perkins fresh from Oxegen, and the recent WWD featured Breen this is certainly one not to be missed this bank holiday Sunday.

Tickets on the door €15.
